Professional Experience:
Prior to becoming an attorney, Tama was a chemist for British Petroleum, where she initially worked in BP's analytical chemistry department. She focused on atomic absorption and atomic emission spectroscopy, and initiated an AI program for selection of sample preparation methods. As a research chemist on the propylene ammoxidation team, Tama became interested in the patent process, and is a co-inventor on a number of patents related to heterogeneous catalysts.

At Renner Kenner, Tama has developed a broad practice in all areas of intellectual property law. She works closely with clients in the development, procurement, maintenance, licensing and enforcement of worldwide intellectual property portfolios. Tama directs patent, trademark, copyright and design matters around the world and oversees opposition and enforcement proceedings. She has given numerous presentations on intellectual property topics.

Tama especially enjoys advising Middle Market businesses on intellectual property issues, and she maintains a fee structure that is accessible to small business ventures and mid-sized companies. 

Professional memberships include the Ohio State Bar Association, the Akron Bar Association, the American Chemical Society, the Cleveland Intellectual Property Law Association, and Iota Sigma Pi, a National Honor Society for Women in Chemistry. Tama is on the advisory boards for the Departments of Chemistry at Stark State College and the University of Akron.
